In this picture shows evidence on how the bow of the Storstad is twisted towards the port side as the Storstad pulled out of the Empress of Ireland and drifted towards the stern of the ship and into darkjness.

This diagram was used in the 1914 Inquiry that followed the accident. Surveyor's went over the Storstad bow which gave detail signs of how the Storstad struck the Empress, how far in penetrated the Empress and how the Storstad slowly pulled out of the side of the Empress.

In this picture/diagram it shows approximately were the Empress of Ireland was rammed. How do we know this? After the accident a cabin number from one of the cabins on the Empress was found on the deck of the Storstad.

Starboard side of the Storstad. In this picture it shows that the Storstad rammed the Empress of Ireland on an angle and not head on, as the port side is barely touched by the impact.
